Hi guys, my name is Paul Jastrzebski and I work at NVIDIA. I wanted to give everyone a little background on why we put this Ultimate Gaming PC together and share with you some information about the charity that 100% of the proceeds from the auction of the system will go to.
For me, the inspiration of the project comes from a very close family friend that was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a very tough blood cancer, last September. I wanted to do something that would help our friend and the 900,000 people like her that are living with, or are in remission from blood cancers in the United States. I soon learned that raising money to fund research was the best way to one day find a cure for Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Myeloma and so I partnered myself with the world’s top non-profit blood cancer organization -The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
I started shopping the idea of building one of the world’s fastest and most unique gaming computers and and auctioning it to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to some of the top companies in the computer industry – and to my surprise, everyone I talked wanted to help by donating some of their best parts or their unique services.
A good friend and world-class case modder named Richard “Darth Beavis” Surroz volunteered to put all the pieces together and build the system – and before I knew it, one of the most insanely fast and tricked out PCs ever made was created! Richard went to great lengths to make this system stand above any other custom modded system – even going as far as completely re-sleeving each power cable in the system so that they could be laid out more efficiently and temperatures in the case could be reduced. He created a number of custom additions to the case – including a mounting plate just for our Crucial SSD Hard Drives. In addition to managing the build of the system and tracking down many of the project’s sponsors, Richard also drove more than 9 hours from his home in Oregon to NVIDIA’s office in Santa Clara, California to hand deliver the system.
I’d like to personally thank all the companies and people, especially Richard, that donated their time, energy, products, and services to make this project a reality.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. Founded in 1949, LLS is relentless in pursuit of their mission: to Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
LLS has invested more than $680 million in research, approximately $69 million in fiscal year 2009 alone. Programs like the Specialized Center of Research (SCOR), which brings together teams of scientists from different disciplines and the Translational Research Program, which funds research with a high probability of producing innovative patient treatments in an accelerated time frame, have directly contributed to many breakthrough cancer treatments.Research funded by LLS has led or contributed to advances such as chemotherapy, bone marrow and stem cell transplantation and new, targeted oral therapies such as Gleevec.
The need for research is critical. An estimated 912,938 people in the United States are living with,or are in remission from, leukemia, Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma or myeloma. Every four minutes, someone new is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every10 minutes, someone dies.
Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children under the age of 20. Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers and incidence increases with age. The survival rate for myeloma is only 37.1 percent. Incidence is nearly twice as highamong African Americans as for all other races.
